The Berkanan rune stands for the letter B.
Berkana is the rune of feminine, love, growth and fertility.
Runes were etched into weapons to give them power, practised by Vikings fortune, faith, and protection. The earliest extant original works of writing in Scandinavia are runestones. Originally, they were written in a 24 – character script called the Elder Futhark ( f-u-th-a-r-k being the sounds represented by the first six characters). The Kylver Stone in Scotland, Sweden, contains the earliest known sequential listing of all 24 runes, which dates to around AD 400.
